HKICA 2024CPD-02 Technical Visit to MTR 1201 Tung Chung Line Extension (TUE) Project – Tung Chung West Station & Tunnels

HKICA organized a technical visit to MTRC Contract 1201 on 31.8.2024. A total of 25 members attended the visit.

The MTR 1201 project is a 1.3km westward extension from the existing railway tunnel of Tung Chung Station and the new Tung Chung West Station near Yat Tung Estate. When completed, the TUE project will improve railway accessibility to Tung Chung West and Tung Chung East areas and will be a key component of the transport infrastructure to support the Tung Chung New Town Extension development. The project was commenced in 2023 for target completion in 2029.

With the informative presentation by the Project Director of  Bouygues - Dragages (1201) Joint Venture (BDJV), Ir Ivan CHAU and his project team staff, the visitors have learned the quality management, material testing and contract audit in an MTR new railway project in the visit and various challenges in this TUE project.
